Big news dropped last week from one of the industries fan-favorite developers, and it came in the form of a recent job listing. Valve Corporation is looking for an industrial designer with a background in “product design and manufacturing, ergonomics, usability, aesthetics, and surfacing,” according to a report released from Gameindustry International. In the past rumors have frequently surfaced about the company moving into the hardware market, including a rumor about working with Apple to develop a console, but this job posting seems to be a little too specific to have nothing to do with that end. Most would assume that a consoleRead More

So Portal 2 is set to release some interesting DLC on May 8th. Sorry it’s not the seductive and sexy Smooth Sax Expansion… It turns out the Perpetual Testing Initiative will be free content that will introduce a new mode that is similar to PSN’s echochrome and Little Big Planet’s level creator. In the PTI, you can create your own levels that will be published and rated by fellow community Steam members. Looks like fun, check it out! Unlike film, it is more common for sequels of games in this time of interactive entertainment to be better than the original, save for some exceptions. Why is that? Because gamers know what they want in a game. If people say they want Megan Fox in Transformers 2, suddenly its just all Megan Fox, and the movies there after just go downhill. If gamers say want co-op in Orcs Must Die!, though, suddenly it adds a whole new element to the game. That’s right. The gamers asked and Robot entertainment listened. No longer will you have to play the gameRead More
That’s right. If you’re not done exploring the world of Skyrim, fear not, because there’s… going to be a lot more to explore with the mod tool Bethesda is adding in. What makes this really neat is that it works with the Steam app, helping you find mods you like and helping modders get their designs out into the internet. They’re even making a wiki to help newcomers in designing their mods. The best part is that it’s free. Unfortunately there is no release date announced yet but we can expect it to be out probably within the next threeRead More

Finally! Our needs to satisfy our dinosaur fetishes has been answered. Lets be honest here…Terra Nova is just Terrably lame and who the hell wants to ride Jurassic Park at Universal Studios over and over?–Especially now that Backdraft isn’t even there to dry us off!? Well, the guys at Telltale games felt the same way so on November 15, 2011 they’re releasing this masterpiece. Take a look… Definitely a nice change of pace from the typical games I’m used to playing. I’m loving all the “death by Dino” animations–kind of like Dead Space death scenes (say this five times fast).Read More
One my favorite games finally comes to my favorite non gaming computer OS. Double Fine has updated Psychonauts on Steam to support Mac and also added some new changes to the game. including a lowered difficulty to the “Meat Circus” section of the game. There are also some achievement content added and 360 controller support. If you havent played this game yet, which has been released like a million times, now is a good time, it’s only $9.99.
As part of a program called Learn With Portals, Valve is giving away the original Portal for free on Steam until September 20th. Check out the full project bio and a link for the download on their website here. For the rest of us uneducated folk, a free game is always a good thing. Check out the video below to see kids in nice buildings messing with Portal. (thxign)
Today like most of you I was expecting crazy Memorial Day sales to be all over the net. Video games for as low as a dollar! Usually in the foreground of that bargaining is Valves Steam store. But this year for some reason there will be no sales on steam(Besides the $2 off they usually give you). My instant reaction is what the fuck! Its probably Sony’s fault.
