When you take history into account, you’ll see remarkable things that seem to pop out of nowhere or that things happen all of a sudden that will shape how the future generation lives. Those things happen in the video game industry too. Games like Pacman, Donkey Kong, Space Invaders, and etc. were so big, they were like shouting at the whole world with a blow horn. They made this huge impact to kids everywhere, even making them decide how they see themselves in the future. Well, it’s the 21st century, and boy how things have changed. Sure enough there isn’t just one game that really stood out. For the console generation, there are hundreds and maybe even thousands that could fall under the category of forever imprinting itself in our psyche. With everyone having their own games that changed their lives, I’ll show you 5 games that made a difference to me.
A couple of days ago, Sony unveiled its new PlayStation console. Or rather, a new update to it. The new PlayStation 3 is slimmer, sleeker, and lighter than ever before. This bad boy is given a boost from its seemingly minute capacity of 160GB and 320GB hard drive, it is now packing either the already big 250GB or the insane 500GB hard disk drive. A white version is said to be released in Japan and other regions afterwards according to Sony. No word yet on a white version for North America. Along with that, cheaper models with a 12GB flash storage will be released in different parts of Europe and Hong Kong. Again, it isn’t hinted whether this will appear in the North American Market. It will be available to the public on September 25th, Tuesday with a price tag of $269.99. Let’s talk about what little new features it has and it’s pricing.
Ah, I love the smell of a convention floor with a tad mix of gaming frenzy. That is Gamescom for you. Alright, I can hear you ask yourself “What the heck is Gamescom?” I can answer that for you. Think of Gamescom like the Electronic Entertainment Expo or E3. Instead of in the US, Gamescom is held in Koelnmesse in Cologne, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. An annual event that started back in 2009 whose promising cult followers(if you can already establish a cult following just being its 3rd year) have gathered from all over the world. Don’t forget the exhibitors, almost every game developer from 39 different countries have signed up for this year’s Gamescon. All sorts of news, trailers, and inside reports are in store. Come and join me as we uncover all the details Gamescon has to offer.
With Resident Evil: Retribution coming out on September and the 3rd season of AMC’s The Walking Dead at around the same time(October). Not to mention the monumental 100th issue of Image Comics’ best selling title The Walking Dead(basis for the tv show) coming out this week. All these made me think and I thought I’d make an article about the top 10 best zombie video games to date. There aren’t any restrictions on the console/system the game is played on. As long as they are video games, they could make the cut. Here are MY Top 10 zombie games of all time.
These are characters I feel are stupidly useless or annoying, which may be worse. Most games have something redeeming but we´ve all played games that featured buzz kill personalities that ruin the experience. Here are my top ten shittiest characters.

Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom Gameplay Video:
There has never been a time where the legendary Stan “The Man” Lee didn’t appear in any of the video games which the characters he created showed up in. Games ranging from Spider-Man in the good ol’ PlayStation 2 days even to this day with all the innovations being made in the video gaming industry. One of the comic characters he created, the Amazing Spider-Man, has become such a household name that when you even mention Peter Parker, people will surely be able to recognize who that is. Spider-Man from the comic book have spawned television shows, 3 movies plus a reboot showing this summer, a line of toys, and other merchandises. The creator of Spider-Man will literally become a web slinger in the new game, which serves as an epilogue to Sony Pictures’ July 3 film.
This is an extension of a previous Game Vain Post.
The game has an /free-roaming concept, where the player can “swing around” and choose a variety of side missions, challenges and mini-games in addition to the game’s main storyline.open-world The game features a “Web Rush” mechanic, a mode that when activated while traversing, it highlights major points of interest for travel, for instance a lamppost, when selected Spider-Man will cinematically and smoothly transition to it, making travel more stream-lined and simple. The combat system is reminiscent of the Rocksteady Studios-developed Batman game series (Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City) using a freeflow design and counter attacks. Beenox took a cue from the Batman games, with Dee Brown (Beenox studio head) stating “I played both Batman games and liked them. For me, the Spider-Man character is very different than Batman. You have to approach both in a different way. I think the Rocksteady guys did a good job at providing what was required to make a great Batman game, and we’re doing everything we need to this time to make a great Spider-Man game.”
Video Game Trailer:
Ken Levine, game designer of BioShock, tried to excuse himself by saying,
I won’t kid you: BioShock Infinite is a very big game, and we’re doing things that no one has ever done in a first-person shooter. We had a similar experience with the original BioShock, which was delayed several months as our original ship date drew near. Why? Because the Big Daddies weren’t the Big Daddies you’ve since come to know and love. Because Andrew Ryan’s golf club didn’t have exactly the right swing. Because Rapture needed one more coat of grimy Art Deco.
The controversial game, which will be set in the air during the 1912s, will be released on the 26th of February which means it will be directly avoiding competition with some of the bigger FPS games, COD: Black Ops 2 and Halo 4.

Black Cat is coming to “The Amazing Spider-Man” universe with a thirst for power. Via the official “The Amazing Spider-Man” video game site, Activision has revealed Felicia Hardy (AKA Black Cat) as the newest villain clashing with Spider-Man in the upcoming game based on Marc Webb’s “Spider-Man” reboot.
Characterized as “a stunning, deadly thief who thirsts for power comparable to Spider-Man’s,” The “Amazing Spider-Man” version of the Black Cat is known only as Felicia Hardy: popular cheerleader, respected athlete and straight-A student with a dark family secret, She was born into wealth — her family’s fortune was earned during her father’s career as a cat burglar. After her father disappeared “under mysterious circumstances,” Felicia chose to follow in his footsteps and become a cat burglar. Black Cat is described as “a stunning, deadly thief who thirsts for power comparable to Spider-Man’s.”
Felicia Hardy is the most recent in a number of villains revealed for “The Amazing Spider-Man” game including the Rhino and a reimagined version of the Iguana. The game has already been revealed to include an open world reminiscent of “Spider-Man 2” and a new mechanic known as Web Rush, which allows players to more fully get into the acrobatics of Spider-Man. Furthermore, players will have a chance to take control of Marvel legend Stan Lee during the course of the game.
So far Activision and Beenox’s promos for the upcoming The Amazing Spider-Man game have been all about the animals, showing off images and video of Spidey foes the Rhino, the Iguana and a giant bug-like robot or two. Newly released images of Black Cat continue this animal trend, although instead of being a crazy killer mutant, this potential frenemy seems animal in name only.
Having played a role within Spider-Man 2 on the PlayStation 2, the heroine, who was created in the comic book series decades ago, makes a return in the movie tie-in. Black Cat, played by Felicia Hardy, will be joined by fellow villains Rhino and Iguana. Developer Beenox said the character “may not have Spidey’s best interests in mind.”
The Amazing Spider-Man is based on the upcoming Spider-Man reboot film of the same name. It’ll release on June 26th in North America and 29th in Europe for the PS3, Xbox 360, 3DS, DS and Wii.
Words can’t even express how every video game fan is feeling when they got the wind of this. I won’t even bore you with words coming from a genuine nerd. I’ll just let you drool.

I’ve been talking about The Walking Dead since I started working here, only because it’s worth all the words. You might think, “Oh, not another zombie game.” Well, it isn’t actually. What sets The Walking Dead: The Game apart from almost every zombie game out there is its unique way to emphasize character development and its character-driven stories. You see, back in 2003, The Walking Dead comic book started its inevitable rise to mainstream America thanks to writer Robert Kirkman and artist Tony Moore. That’s right, it was a comic book first before becoming a tv show. Since then, The Walking Dead was and still to this day praised by millions of fans, not because of the hack and slash, gory, and violent depiction of zombies and ways to kill them. Which, by the way, current artist Charlie Adlard and inker/colorist Cliff Rathburn are doing an exceptional work. It is because of the story of a man and his struggle to survive. Questions like “what if a man is put in a certain situation, what will he do to survive and keep everyone around him safe?” was clearly studied extensively by the series’ writer Robert Kirkman.
The same goes for the video game, eerily similar to the award-winning book. A man whose past must not delve into the present, is put in tragic and self-contemplating circumstances, now must find his way to endure everything that is being thrown at him. You still want to sink your teeth into this game? No worries. The first episode of the five-episodic series is out today on Playstation Network, Xbox Live Arcade, Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X, and iOS for only $4.99. Also, you will be able to pre-purchase the entire season for as low as $19.99 which would give you a savings of $4.99 and an exclusive theme for your PlayStation 3 console.
Here are the themes:
Also, the next episodes are released one month after the other. Expect to enjoy your summer with blood and gore.
