No, it isn’t a typeo… whoops. Typo, it wasn’t a typo. There we go. Ahem. No this isn’t a typo. Appearantly, Nintendo is trying to tease us with encoded hints to something they’re probably going to announce at E3 next week.
- The first blurb has 33 characters
- The second blurb has 27 characters
- The third blurb has 19 characters
Honestly, these little “da Vinci code” style teasers really don’t do anything for me. The outcome is never really that much of a surprise, nor is it as triumphant as it could have been. It’s always something like, “A new Zelda is on the way!” The truth of the matter is a new Zelda is probably never not in the works. Now if that teaser was an encoded message from Shigeru Miyamoto to the fans stating that he would be separating from Nintendo and starting a new gaming brand to directly challenge Nintendo and everything they stand for… now THAT would be something worth deciphering.
Here at Gamevain, we aren’t always on the prowl for the latest news on the next Call of Duty game, or scavenging the net for the latest tips on the next big MMO. Sometimes we just like to kick it, “Hello Kitty” style. Let’s just say we know our Hello Kitty. So if you’re looking to get that friend of yours something for his birthday, or need a “good luck” present for that uncle just released from jail, here are our top 5 reasons for buying Hello Kitty Picnic for everyone you know.
Reason #5 – The Sanrio Friends
With a title like “Hello Kitty Picnic” you may think the adventure aims to focus on the single titular character, but that just simply isn’t true. Included in the game is a relative orgy of personalities including:
Winking Cat Regular Eye Cat
Rejected Angry Bird #43 Evil Pichu in a Jester’s Cap
Surprised-Look Duck dude Ambiguous Animal in a weird hat
and of course…. Baby version of Will Arnett’s character from Monsters vs Aliens
Top Reason #4 – Facebook and Twitter integration
Let’s say you just leveled up you Hello Kitty character to a 5-apple rating and you are desperate to let your friends know how well you’re doing in the game. How can you remedy this precarious situation… oh yea, Facebook and Twitter integration mofos! Sharing your elite, Hello Kitty endgame tactics with your closest friends has never been so easy.
Top Reason #3 – Unfamiliar Language means Unfamiliar Surprises are in store!
Sure, you COULD wait for an English version, but why do that? Buy the Japanese version right now. You don’t know Japanese you say? Well, you’re in for a treat. Take a look at the picture above. You’re obviously being rewarded with 100 “somethings.” What exactly? Who knows… well, people who speak Japanese know. Stupid people like me only know one language, so my grasp on the story and dialogue is pretty weak. The solution? Fill in the blanks with anything! Right now, I’m imagining the game is rewarding me with 100 sets of tickets to every Super Bowl for the next 100 years. Yay!
Top Reason #2 – iPhone Platform
What kind of loser wouldn’t have an iPhone by now other than the billions of people using Android, the 8 of us using Windows Phone, the 19 people still holding onto Blackberry, or that one dude I saw once using a Symbian device. Answer: Nobody.
Top Reason #1 – Hello Kitty Crossover Appeal
Holy Hell… is that a soccer mom version of one of the Bratz characters on the left? Hello Kitty AND soccer mom Bratz? Have my dreams come true?
Check out the full Hello Kitty Picnic Trailer below… you know you want to. Happy Trollin’.
Here I go again with another post about The Walking Dead. Well, if you still haven’t read the comics, played the game, or even watched the first and second season of the hit show, go ahead and be ashamed of yourself. Seriously. The Walking Dead really is a good Zombie Epic that focuses more on character development rather than the usual hack-and-slash zombie gore, though they obviously haven’t forgotten that aspect at all.
The Walking Dead started as a comic book created by Robert Kirkman(Writer) and Tony Moore(Artist) back in 2003. Now, it has grown to a global popular culture phenom. A hit tv show is already in its production of the 3rd season, the comic book is nearing its 100th issue with an overwhelming 9+ covers, and a popular video game which already sold millions(Courtesy of ComicBookResources.com).
At the end of the second season, a hooded lady appeared which sent chills and excitement down every fan of The Walking Dead. This woman is named Michonne, who is an integral character and an important asset in the comic book series. Naturally, people have searched the internet for answers regarding who the actress is playing the role of Michonne. Her name is Danai Gurria and AMC.com just released a photo of Danai in her Michonne get-up.
It’s been almost a year and 4 months since DC debuted its Massively Multiplayer game, DC Universe Online, on PS3 Microsoft Online. Now, when times are is at its peak for Marvel and its respective departments, Marvel is about to release Marvel Heroes MMO. News are out on Marvel.com, the details are being given out by a leading game developer/publisher/operator for mmo games Gazillion Entertainment and designed by Secret Identity Studios.
Written by Brian Michael Bendis, author of ULTIMATE SPIDER-MAN, NEW AENGERS, SECRET INVASIONand countless other successes, “Marvel Heroes”is inspired by some of the most popular tales and events in Marvel Comics history. There may be hints of events like Civil War (even though it’s already been tackled by Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2), Secret Invasion, Siege, or even the recent Marvel Event, Fear Itself.
The game is set to have at least 8,000 characters for players to choose from. From classic heroes like members of The Avengers to the misunderstood mutant heroes The X-Men, From Cosmic Entities like the Silver Surfer and Guardians of the Galaxy to Street Guys like The Punisher, Moon Knight, and Daredevil. The list goes on and on and on. Trust me, with 8,000 characters, it is a long list.
Check out the launch trailer of Resistance: Burning Skies for the PS Vita right down below. If you have been waiting for this game to be released, it is finally here! Hope you like what you see, because it is looking good so far. Graphics look nice and gameplay, try it out! Look below:
So Battleship the game was released. No surprise since the much hyped movie of the same name hit box office shores just recently. The results? “Meh”. Not a lot of games come out just as good or better than their TV or Movie counter part with just a few exceptions. My personal favorite? Superman 64.
But I digress. This game, according to this review, came out much better than the movie. Though that’s not saying much.
“Hasbro’s board game Battleship recently saw its first—and hopefully last—film adaptation. And of course, you cannot have movie about aliens and battleships without a throwing together a video game of some kind. However, unlike the Call of Duty knockoff PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 players were subjected to, Wii owners get a relatively competent turn-based strategy game with a less than spectacular story.”
Terrible story, but what did you expect? IT’S BATTLESHIP! It’s a board game where two kids guess the positions of ships. If anyone tries to put a story line in that, they’d be better off trying to make a story out of Jenga. Or Snakes and Ladders. Or better yet, take the movie Pearl Harbor and slap the Battleship logo on it. I guarantee you they wouldn’t have to rely on Rihanna as a crutch actor if they did that.
But back to the game. What did they do right? Think of it as the old game Advanced Wars but on a Wii. That’s pretty much it. Review said it was challenging but no multiplayer? Yeah, because the only thing more sad about playing Battleship by yourself is playing Battleship for the Wii which forces you to play it by yourself.
Check out this trailer and gameplay for Darksiders II. The main character in this sequel to Darksiders is Death and he embarks on a quest to prove the innocence of his brother, War. This game will be released in August 2012 for PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii U.
Back when I played WoW (before Cataclysm), I almost never went AFK anywhere in Stormwind. Let’s get one thing straight, I wasn’t afraid to fight anyone. I was a Blood Death Knight in full Wrathful pvp gear, and could go toe-to-toe with anyone in the arena. No, what I was afraid of was being caught off guard by a group of Rogues. You see, Rogues could sneak around Stormwind, and pick and choose their targets at their leisure because they were always invisible, and always hit you when you least expect it. Well, if this job listing is anything, it could mean Ubisoft is trying to bring that same “always be looking over your shoulder” type of fear that goes with involving stealth combat to a massive scale. Can you imagine the sheer amount of backstabbing a potential Assassin’s Creed MMO would bring to the table. Get this done, Ubisoft!
Fans wanted it and Bethesda delivers. With the coming of version 1.6, players will be able to engage in melee and ranged combat while riding a horse, possibly Zelda style? Who knows. Along with this news, Bethesda blog also announced a relative chunk of bug fixes (something fans of the game are sure to look forward to). I’ve never played the game myself, but enough of my friends have complained about dragons they’ve been fighting ending up inside mountains, or being stuck in certain places because of a bug that freezes the game. Not pretty stuff. Check out the entire blog update HERE.
The love-hate relationship between the people of the world and Blizzard just won’t ease up. Yes, millions of us love our Diablo 3, but boy does this game heat our blood sometimes. Do we have any Monk users? Well, Blizzard has just deemed you class OP and has decided to nerf you bastards. The Wizard also got a couple of tweaks to a few spells that were deemed “issues.” Check out these changes along with the rest at Blizzards official hotfix page HERE.
Fixes and nerfs were to be expected, but the one thing fans of the game did NOT want to hear is that the real money auction house will be delayed again… indefinitely.
In light of the post-launch obstacles we’ve encountered, we have made the decision to move the launch of the real-money auction house beyond the previously estimated May time frame. As we mentioned in our original announcement, our goal has always been to ensure everyone has the smoothest experience possible when the real-money auction house launches, and we need a bit more time to iron out the existing general stability and gameplay issues before that feature goes live. While we don’t have a new launch date to share just yet, we’ll have more information soon.
A bummer for sure, but it only gives people more time to hoard those epics when the RMAH does finally go live. Check out the official post by Blizzard in its entirety HERE.
