GameVain: Behind the Scenes(FOODBEAST)

Just a Little Behind the Scenes: A couple months ago the guys from the amazing food blog  FoodBeast and a couple of the GameVain crew members went out the the local pub. We all got really drunk and no one could remember who wrote this on the wall in the bathroom. The story now became a legend and is still a mystery, pretty epic. When we are not posting news for you we are most likely drunk at the bar. Yes its what we do.

Daily Pic: The Future Of Video Games.

Although this scenario is highly unlikely it is still kinda scary in recent years of how many video game addons that the industry try to get you to purchase.  Yes you will probably not be playing a game where you inseminate a horse but you probably will be doing other things….NADA DA MEAN! (thxgo)

3DS Micro-Review Roundup

After playing a bunch of 3DS games at length, I can honestly say not too many of them actually merit a lot of words to be said about them. So instead of posting three different full reviews, I’ve decided to post one article with all my thoughts nicely compressed. You get all the information you need, and I get to go back to playing my 3DS faster. Everybody wins!

My own lazy ass aside, the other reason for this is launch titles for a console like the 3DS are mostly designed simply to show off the hardware, so my primary critique of these titles is how well they do that. With that in mind, let us begin in alphabetical order.

Portal 2 Bots Trailer (STOKED!)

Portal was such an amazing game that it seems like valve can do no wrong at this point. This latest Portal 2 trailer looks so damn entertaining I would rather watch it as a fucking IMAX 3D movie than play the game….well that’s a lie I would rather play the Portal 2 game in IMAX 3D. BOOM! Check out the trailer below its dope.

Xbox Drops: Trails HD, Limbo, and Splosion Man in Triple Threat Retail Disk!!!

Dev teams Red Lynx(Trails HD), Play Dead Studios(Limbo), and Twisted Pixel(Splosion Man) are collectively releasing their best Xbox live games on one retail disk. The game is said to be priced around $30 and it will include Splosion Man, Limbo, and Trails HD and will be sold in game stores near you.

Believe me when I say this, it is completely worth it if you do not own any of these games. If I had to pick three games in the Xbox live arcade that I would put on one disk for thirty bucks there would be no doubt, I would pick all three.  I have probably collectively put more hours on Trails HD than I have any on any Call of Duty game ever…which is saying something. Limbo is fucking amazing but extremely short so adding it to a pack like this makes absolute sense in purchasing it. Splosion man is probably the best multiplayer platformer I have played in recent years and the single player is awesome as well(New Super Mario Bro’s Wii is up there as well). The ending video in Splosion man is worth the $10 it self its pretty damn funny. To put this lightly this is the best bundle package I have seen since the Orange Box.  Yeah that wasn’t light but whatever.  DO WORK, DID WORK, STRUT! (thxgs)

Daily Pic: Street Fighter Blanka in Real Life

I think that Carrot Top has finally found his calling. He needs to paint his ass green and go be Blanka in the next street fighter movie. Only then will Carrot Top ever have a real job. (thxkot)

Major Problem with the 3DS!

The 3DS player status is only limited to 16 fucking characters! Jesus what could you say with 16 characters?  I can’t even spell my full name in 16 characters. It reminds me of this video below I saw on twitter. GO Nintendo first pointed this out and I am expanding on it with this sweet video.

Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City (DOPE!)

Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City has just been confirmed twice!

Operation Raccoon City is a third person team based Resident Evil game. The game will be available on PC, XBOX360, and PS3. Capcom has stated that this will be a cohesive based team game and showcase features of teamwork that the industry has never seen before. What those features are is still a mystery to the public.  If your a fan of the original series you can expect all the old zombie characters to be back for more. (I was more a fan of the original series and this game in particular brings it back to basics, even though they were all pretty damn good).

Capcom stated this about the story,

It is September 1998 and the action centres once more on the ill-fated Raccoon City and the horrific consequences of the deadly T-virus outbreak from the Umbrella facility. With a cover up required, Umbrella orders an elite team into Raccoon City to destroy all evidence of the outbreak and eliminate any survivors. Hearing of this plan, the US Government dispatches its own special forces to uncover any evidence that exposes the cause of the viral infection and Umbrella’s actions. Players take on the role of an Umbrella Security Services soldier (U.S.S.), competing alone or in four player co-op in a battle against all the competing forces at play in Raccoon City.

Hopefully the co-op will be just as intensive as Resident Evil 5 and they also bring in some puzzle aspects that were included in the first game. That would be an amazing Resident Evil game. (thxcap)

3DS Review

I love Nintendo. I always have, and always will; however, the company lost me slightly with the Wii, thus, I never picked one up. When initial designs of the 3DS surfaced; however, I was all over it. Okay, that was sort of a lie. I can’t say I was ever gaga for the 3DS until I had one pre-ordered, but I can say I had high hopes.

A console launch is never the peak of performance, but the 3DS is special to me. For one, this is the first console I’ve ever purchased on day one. I’ve picked up the PSP early, and my parents got me a Nintendo 64 early, but this was my first launch day pickup and while the actual game selection is kinda weak, the hardware is quite impressive. Lets break it down piece by piece.
